This is a commissioned re-design for the Save CA Ethnic Studies logo. I first conceptualized a black woman using a megaphone to speak to a crowd of protestors. After the first vector draft, we wanted a black woman who looked younger (as a tribute to a young black teacher in the coalition) and we wanted to use hoop earrings as a tribute to their symbolic significance in black and brown communities.
